Important Part of Prayer

Ps 101:1-8 (NAS)
1 I will sing of lovingkindness and justice, to Thee, O LORD, I will sing praises.
2 I will give heed to the blameless way. When wilt Thou come to me? I will walk within my house in the integrity of my heart.
3 I will set no worthless thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who fall away; it shall not fasten its grip on me.
4 A perverse heart shall depart from me; I will know no evil.
5 Whoever secretly slanders his neighbor, him I will destroy; no one who has a haughty look and an arrogant heart will I endure.
6 My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land, that they may dwell with me; He who walks in a blameless way is the one who will minister to me.
7 He who practices deceit shall not dwell within my house; He who speaks falsehood shall not maintain his position before me.
8 Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, so as to cut off from the city of the LORD all those who do iniquity.

Most of us know that we should confess our sins in our prayer lives, but do you denounce evil? Yes, we should be careful in deciding what is evil, but something plainly are. When we encounter them, we should denounce them to others and to God.

Ask God to keep evil away from GodConBlog. Read this Psalm and pick out some the evils it names ...arrogance...deceit...perversity and ask God to hold them at bay for this conference. As Him to make them apparent if they arrive and to give us the power to drive them back.

What is Man?

THIS is a great Psalm:

Ps 8:1-9(NAS)
1 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Thy name in all the earth, who hast displayed Thy splendor above the heavens!
2 From the mouth of infants and nursing babes Thou hast established strength, because of Thine adversaries, to make the enemy and the revengeful cease.
3 When I consider Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast ordained;
4 What is man, that Thou dost take thought of him? And the son of man, that Thou dost care for him?
5 Yet Thou hast made him a little lower than God, and dost crown him with glory and majesty!
6 Thou dost make him to rule over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under his feet,
7 All sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
8 The birds of the heavens, and the fish of the sea, whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
9 O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is Thy name in all the earth!

Especially I love verse 4. Humbling, isn't it? Who are we that God should care? But He does!, and He does so intimately.

For example, God really does care about every detail of GodBlogCon, and we are wtinessing His hand at work in those details. Thank God for that His interest. ASk for His guidance on even the most mundane of issues. He cares, and He will answer.

Hard Work

1Thes 5:16-19 (NAS)
16 Rejoice always; 17 pray without ceasing; 18 in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. 19 Do not quench the Spirit

Praying without ceasing may be the hardest thing I have ever tried to do. Heck, I've only been doing this prayer blog for a little over a week and it's getting harder and harder.

I think v. 19 is the key to v. 17. I know I can't pray without ceasing, but I also know the Holy Spirit can.

As we pray today, particularly for GodBlogCon and all the myriad details that accompany such an undertaking, let's try not to get in the way of the Holy Spirit. Let's try to make our prayers His prayers.

Hopefully there will be specifics about GodBlogCon to offer up in intercession soon, but until that time, pray for its success, pray for its leadership, and pray for God's will.

Good Things are Happening

Rest Assured that God is at work in the preparations for GodBlogCon. Great things are in the offing.

Ps 67 (NAS)
God be gracious to us and bless us, {and} cause His face to shine upon us-- Selah.
That Thy way may be known on the earth, Thy salvation among all nations.
Let the peoples praise Thee, O God; let all the peoples praise Thee.
Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; for Thou wilt judge the peoples with uprightness, and guide the nations on the earth. Selah.
Let the peoples praise Thee, O God; let all the peoples praise Thee.
The earth has yielded its produce; God, our God, blesses us.
God blesses us, that all the ends of the earth may fear Him.

Appropriating God's Desire

Rom 8:28
And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

God is at work in the world, and He is definitely at work in the Godblogosphere, and with GodBlogCon. We do not need to intercede with the Lord for His help with our plans. Rather, we need to actively seek His plans and appropriate them for ourselves.

Ask God today what His plans are for you and for GodBlogCon. Ask Him to share those plans with us. Be prepared to respond to His leading.

Answered Prayer!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thre organizing site reports today that two great possible locations in California are being evaluated and a decision is expected this week. Praise the Lord that He has supplied these new opportunities. Thank God for answered prayer. Take heart that we are operating within His will.

Praying Without News

Isa 40:28-31 (NAS)
Do you not know? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth does not become weary or tired. His understanding is inscrutable. He gives strength to the weary, and to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, and vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD will gain new strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles, they will run and not get tired, they will walk and not become weary.

Do you find yourself impatient with the fact that there has been no news about GodBlogCon since Friday? In the ultrarapid world of the Blogosphere, are you dissappointed that there is no new information?

Even in cyberspace, we must wait for the Lord. This is His conference, He will provide. Pray for His timing, and His venue.

Pray for Rest

There have been no updates to the organizing site since Friday afternoon, when it was announced the conference will not happen in Arizona as originally hoped.

I am certain Dr. AJ needs the rest, probabaly we all do.

Ask God to use this sabbath as a day of rest and refreshment. Ask God to use this day to restore your relationship with Him.
