Changes....

With the announcmeent that GodBlogCon is being hosted by Biola University, the administration of all matters related to GodBlogCon are in transition.

It is the very firm conviction of all involved that this prayer blog was a large part of making this wonderful development happen. Thank you for lifting this up to the Lord.

In the meantime, activity here will be suspended pending new developments. Keep praying and keep your eyes peeled.

Pray For Us

II Th 3:1
Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord may spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you;

How do you ask people to pray for you? Do you even ask people to pray for you? My congregation takes time out of each service for people to share prayer concerns. Remarkably, they are almost always for someone else.

The purpose of this prayer blog is to raise prayer for GodBlogCon. There are no site meters or trackbacks. We are relying on God to bring the right people here at the right times.

Daily writing this blog in such void is tough. I ask for your prayers today. I ask you to ask God that He will guide me, the prayer team, Darrell Vaughn and Bonnie, in the right directions. Please ask God to tell us how to pray, and what to pray for.

Pray Like You Mean It

Matt 7:7-11
7 "Ask, and it shall be given to you; seek, and you shall find; knock, and it shall be opened to you. 8 "For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened. 9 "Or what man is there among you, when his son shall ask him for a loaf, will give him a stone? 10 "Or if he shall ask for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? 11 "If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more shall your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!

Rebecca Writes reminds us of the incredible power of prayer, particularly prayer together.

GodBlogCon has been a success to date, and will be when it actually happens. Not because of the incredible power of the blogosphere, but because of the overwhelming power of God! God's answers to our prayers are the key to this thing. Pray fervently, like you truly know that is the case.

Now is the Time

Eccl 3:1-11
1 There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven--2 A time to give birth, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot what is planted. 3 A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to tear down, and a time to build up. 4 A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance. 5 A time to throw stones, and a time to gather stones; a time to embrace, and a time to shun embracing. 6 A time to search, and a time to give up as lost; a time to keep, and a time to throw away. 7 A time to tear apart, and a time to sew together; a time to be silent, and a time to speak. 8 A time to love, and a time to hate; a time for war, and a time for peace. 9 What profit is there to the worker from that in which he toils? 10 I have seen the task which God has given the sons of men with which to occupy themselves. 11 He has made everything appropriate in its time. He has also set eternity in their heart, yet so that man will not find out the work which God has done from the beginning even to the end.

Dates and location for GodBlogCon have been announced. Obviously, THIS is the Lord's time. Biola University, October 13-15.

Accomplishing this has been the result of tremendous effort for a lot of people. Thank God today for Andy Jackson (SmartChristian), Matthew Anderson (Mere Orthodoxy), and Dr. John Mark Reynolds (Eidos) that have spearheaded the effort and thank God for all the other hard-working people at Biola that have participated in getting us this far.

Ask God to make these dates and this place available for all the people that He wants to be there.

Sing to The Lord

Ps 47:1-9
1 O Clap your hands, all peoples; shout to God with the voice of joy.
2 For the LORD Most High is to be feared, a great King over all the earth.
3 He subdues peoples under us, and nations under our feet.
4 He chooses our inheritance for us, the glory of Jacob whom He loves. Selah.
5 God has ascended with a shout, the LORD, with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises to our King, sing praises.
7 For God is the King of all the earth; sing praises with a skillful psalm.
8 God reigns over the nations, God sits on His holy throne.
9 The princes of the people have assembled themselves {as} the people of the God of Abraham; for the shields of the earth belong to God; He is highly exalted.

Are you ever so happy with God that you just have to sing? I hope so! If not, ask God to make you so, it is a marvelous feeling. God is the King of all the earth. Rest happy in His benevolent rule.
